Jim Hulbert is the managing partner at The Jane Group as well as a labor and employment lawyer. Jim manages all of The Jane Group’s international school work and has presented at numerous international education conferences, including NESA, EARCOS and at The International Task Force on Child Protection in Dubai. Internationally, the firm also works with CIS, ISS, AAIE, ECIS and others.
Jim assists international schools leaders and boards in implementing crisis plans, crisis communications plans and protocols, child protection plans, risk management, employment and HR policies. Jim trains international independent school leadership in crisis management including sexual misconduct issues, and other highly sensitive matters. Jim travels to international schools to help manage existing crises, as well as providing on-site training of faculty, staff and other constituents. In the US, Jim is the lead consultant on school related lawsuits as well as board and employment matters.
Jim graduated from Culver Academies (IN). Jim was a Morehead-Cain Scholar at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and graduated magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, with a degree in American Studies. In 1982, Jim earned his law degree at Boston College, cum laude. In addition, Jim has participated in the Northwestern University, Kellogg School of management Executive Certificate Program, including Critical Issues of Board Governance and Nonprofit Finance.
